How It Works
Ezetimibe inhibits the NPC1L1 cholesterol-transport protein at the intestinal brush border, reducing the absorption of dietary and biliary cholesterol. This lowers the amount of cholesterol delivered to the liver and encourages increased clearance of LDL cholesterol from the bloodstream.
